Serene Snowflakes, part 2

I had fun creating cards with my "Serene Snowflakes" stamp set. I also used the new shimmer paints from SU. This card was simple to make, but I dressed it up with the embossed greeting. Yes- lately I love to emboss everything. I think it makes it stand out so much more. Here is a close up of the card. I also added some rinestone brads for an extra 3D touch.

Here is another card I did with the Serene Snowflakes stamp set (and the Four the Holidays set). Can you tell I really like the blue/kraft color combo. Have a great day!

Snow Globe Card

I seen this card in the back of the Holiday Mini and knew I had to try it. I think it is adorable! I used my circle scissors cutter to get the shape of the card. Don't have a circle scissors cutter? You can order one or you can use any circle lid to make the shape and then cut it out. It is two partial/overlapping circles and the bottom one is cut in half. I used the Snow Buddies stamp set for the snowman and to decorate the back of the globe so it looked like it was snowing in there. The bottom greeting is embossed with the Four the Holidays.

To emboss you simply:
  1. Stamp your image with VersaMark ink
  2. Sprinkle embossing powder over the top
  3. Shake off the excess embossing powder
  4. Heat set the powder with a heat tool

I hope you like it!

Sweet Centers Halloween

Here is a card I did over the weekend with my Sweet Centers stamp set (Holiday Mini product). Sorry about the picture. I need a new camera! I also used my House of Haunts set for the greeting. You can try it with any colors but I used Pumkin paper, old olive, rich razzleberry and basic black.

Technique of the Week- Watercoloring

Watercoloring
Give your cards a watercolor look using line stamps and watercolors:

Here is how to do it:
A] Dip the tip of a blender pen on to the corner of a Stampin' Pastel, then apply to the stamped image.
OR
B] Brush the tip of a blender pen, Aqua Painter, or wet watercolor brush directly on the tip of a Watercolor Wonder crayon, then apply color to the stamped image.
OR
C] Outline a section of the stamped image with a Watercolor Wonder Crayon or Watercolor Pencil, then use a blender pen, Aqua Painter, or wet watercolor brush to pull color where desired.
OR
D] Press the closed lid of a Classic Stampin' Pad down against the ink pad, creating a small pool of color in the lid; then open the lid. Use a blender pen, an Aqua Painter, or a damp watercolor brush to lift the ink from the lid and apply to the stamped image.

QUICK TIP--For more saturated colors, watercolor with Classic ink refills.

House of Haunts Candy Bag

Hello,
Today I am posting a candy bag that I did using my House of Haunts set and All Holidays set for the greeting. I am trying to find a good candy bag to do for a party next month. I need something easy and quick to make since I am making quite a few of these. This is one possibility. To make this bag simply score a sheet of 8.5X11 paper on the horizontal side at 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10. On the vertical side score at 1 inch on top and bottom. Cut the sheet in the middle and you have enough to make two bags. Cut your lines and use red line double sided sticky strip to glue together. Enjoy!

Season's Greetings Goodie Bag

Hello,
The other day I made this milk carton style holiday goodie bag. I got the inspiration from Kay Sha's blog click here to see her instructions. It would be great to fill with candy, choclate or a small gift.
Enjoy!

Ice Cream Sundae with Punches

Hello Everyone,
I had my first stamp club last week and we had so much fun. This was one of the cards we made. This ice cream sundae was made using lots of punches. Everyone in my club loved making this card. Here is the recipe for the punches:
Ice Cream Bowl: Large Oval Punch, cut top off
Banana: Large oval punch, cut excess off
Ice Cream Balls: 3/4" circle punch
Ice Cream Toppings: 3/4" circle punch and scallop edge punches. Punch a strip with the scallop edge and then use the 3/4 punch to shape it.
Cherry: hole punch
Polka -Dot background: Crop a Dile, punch holes randomly on the white paper.
Other items used: real red ribbon, scallop edge punch for so saffron paper strip on bottom.
Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Fifth Street Floral Embossed

This is one of our Stamp Club projects for tommorrow. I used several techniques for this card. The bottom bashful blue cardstock texturized with my Big Shot texturz plates. I just learned how to make the image come out better so I have been using these like crazy.

I also stamped the flowers with VersaMark ink, then applied white embossing powder and the used my heat tool to set it in. I love how clean the embossed flowers look.

Last, I also roughed up the so saffron paper by rubbing my scissors on the edge to make it look a little torn. I made decorated this small candle to go with the gift. The bashful blue paper is stamped with flowers in the bashful blue ink. These candles can be found at some Walmarts for $1.

Have a great morning!
