Class Set-Up

Have you ever seen handmade cards and thought "they look cute, but it looks too hard"? Well, I wanted to show all of you how I set up my classes. I prepare all of the materials you need for that particular project/card and place everything in a basket. When you get to that station all you have to do it take all of your pre-cut materials, follow some simple steps, stamp and glue. It really is that simple--and a lot of fun! Once you take a few classes you are discover that you can do it at home too.

The card above I "cased" from the Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration brochure. For new stampers, cased means I took the idea and copied it. I case a lot of my cards! It saves me a lot of time and makes cardmaking simpler. There are some times that I make up designs on my own. However, casing is an easy way for new stampers to make beautiful cards.

Click here to see my spring class schedule. Check back often, I am in the process of scheduling more stamp classes and some new scrapbooking classes.

Pretty in Pink

Hello Everyone!
Here are a couple cards I made this week. I was in a pink mood. For the top card I used the Sending Love Specialty DSP from the Occassions Mini. The flowers are cut out of one of the DSP papers and glued with dimensionals. I love the glittery effect. The stamp set for this is With All My Heart, also from the Mini.
The second card is made using the With All My Heart stamp set. I stamped then punched out the flowers with SU square punches.
Have a great weekend!

Cards using FREE SAB products!

I feel like I have not used color on projects for months! I had been doing Christmas cards for so long that it felt almost odd to do anything other than red, green, brown colors. It feels great to use other colors!

This card was made using lots of FREE Sale-a-bration products. If you don't know about Sale-a-Bration, click on the link to your left for more details. In summary, it is the best time of the year to stock up on products or host a workshop. For every $50 you spend you get a free SAB product. Hostess get extra free stuff during SAB too.

Back to the card...here is the recipe I used for it:

Ink: Black StazOn

Paper: Bermuda Bay CS, Welcome Neighbor DSP (Free SAB item), So Saffron CS

Stamps: Happy Moments (Free SAB item)

Accessories: Bermuda Bay ribbon, silver elastic cord, Scallop Trim Border Punch (Free SAB item)

Here is a second card I did this weekend with these vibrant colors. It has been so rainy and gloomy for days so it has been a great time to stamp!

I have been wanting to use a punch for a vase for a long time. This is the Christmas Ornament Punch that was offered in the Holiday Mini. I texturized it using my big shot machine, snipped the bottom off of the punch and VOILA... a vase. Isn't that cool!

Here are the details:

Stamps: Happy Moments (Free SAB item)

Ink: Black StazOn, Bermuda Bay

Paper: Bermuda Bay CS, Welcome Neighbor DSP (Free SAB item), Melon Mambo CS, So Saffron CS

Accessories: Scallop Trim Border Punch (Free SAB item), Stampin' Pastels, Ornament Punch (no longer available), whisper white taffeta ribbon

January Club Projects

Good Morning!
Here is a look at 3 of the 5 projects we made at my Stamp Club this month. The calendar box is a pen caddy or post it holder (depending on your preference). The pen is super easy to make. Lastly, the card was a nice quick and easy design. I have included instructions for the box and pen below.
Here are some rough instructions for the box and pen (email me with questions if it is not clear):
Coaster Pen Caddy:
Box
· Cut 5 pieces of chipboard coasters to 3 ½ X 3 ½ .
· Cut 2 strips of cardstock to 8 ½ X 3 ½ .
· Wrap and glue the cardstock pieces onto the chipboard pieces to form a box.
Box Bottom
· Cut a coordinating piece of cardstock to 4 ½ X 4 ½.
· Score this piece turning clockwise at 9/16” on one side, 9/16” on next side, ½”, then ½’’
· Fold and cut to form box insert.
o Glue this box together with the seams on the outside of the box
· Glue this assembled box bottom to the last piece of chipboard coaster
· Apply sticky strip to the outer edges of the box bottom piece and insert carefully in the bottom inside of the caddy
Decorate the caddy as you would like!
Pen:
I got these instructions from a friend, Rochelle Wick. Instead of the tape roll that she lists, you can use sticky pages from Stampin' Up!. You can click here to see them.
These are the supplies I used for these projects:
Paper: Bella Blue DSP, Not Quite Navy CS, Whisper White CS
Ink: Brocade Blue, Choclate Chip
Stamps: Fresh Cuts, "The best is yet to be"-retired
Give it a try and let me know how you do!
